2026–2027 SNU GSIS–KT&G China Fellowship for a Visiting Scholar
The SNU GSIS–KT&G China Fellowship Program, jointly established by the KT&G Scholarship Foundation and the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) at Seoul National University, is a prestigious academic exchange initiative. The program aims to invite distinguished scholars from China to conduct academic research as visiting fellows at Seoul National University for a period of one year. We warmly welcome scholars who are committed to advancing academic exchange between China and Korea.
1. Fellowship Details:
- One-year appointment as a visiting scholar at the GSIS, Seoul National University
- Research period: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027
- One round-trip airfare provided
- Fully equipped office space provided on the university campus
- Monthly housing allowance: approx. KRW 2,000,000
- Monthly research grant: approx. KRW 5,000,000
(Amounts may be adjusted in accordance with institutional guidelines.)
2. Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in academic seminars and research activities hosted by GSIS
- Maintain a regular office presence at GSIS (3 days per week)
- Engage in scholarly exchange and cooperation with Korean government institutions and academic communities
- Submit a Final Research Report summarizing the research process and outcomes of the fellowship year
3. Eligibility:
- Must hold Chinese nationality
- Must currently hold a senior position (e.g., professor, senior researcher, or high-level official) in a recognized academic, governmental, or media institution
- Fluency in English
- Primary research focus must include Korea-China relations and/or East Asian international cooperation, including politics, diplomacy, and economics. Applicants with a demonstrated interest in contributing to the future development of Korea-China relations are especially encouraged to apply

2) Certificate of Employment (scanned copy)
3) Doctoral Degree Certificate (scanned copy)
* A letter of consent for dual affiliation from the current employer will be required after selection; applicants are advised to prepare this in advance.
